May 13. 7:30-8:30 Talk in English Theme The future in five years from now. ミーティングは7時半にスタート。 あいにくゲストは無しでレギュラーメンバーの参加も常連の4人のみの参加になりました。 トーストマスターズなのでいつも通りタイマーを測って3分以内でそれぞれが話し終えるようにルールを設けてのディ スカッションです。 ただしカジュアルミーティングなのであまりそこにはこだわらず気楽な雰囲気でディスカッションは楽しく進 んでいきましたよ。 The meeting started at 7:30. Unfortunately, there were no guests, and only four regular members, who are also frequent participants, attended. As the Toastmasters, we followed the usual rule of timing each speaker to three minutes or less for their speeches and discussions. However, since it was a casual meeting, we didn't focus too much on strict rules and enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere during the discussions. 最初のお題は How will changes in business and society affect the future? The first topic was: How will changes in business and society affect the future? スピーカー1 Digitalization についての話が中心でした。 ・5年後もさらにデジタル化が進んでいる ・デジタル化で学校や企業では従業員の数を減らすことができる ・一方では高齢化が進みさらに人の力が必要になるでしょう。 ・デジタル化で人件費が削減できる分野と高齢化によるエッセンシャルワーカーなどを要する分野での人材確保 が必要な分野においての二極化が進むだろう。 Speaker 1: The discussion mainly revolved around digitalization. It was mentioned that digitalization will continue to advance even further in five years. Digitalization enables reducing the number of employees in schools and companies. On the other hand, with the aging population, the need for human resources will continue to grow. It is predicted that there will be a polarization between fields that can reduce labor costs through digitalization and those that require essential workers due to aging.
スピーカー2 ・目に見える変化はそんなに感じないであろう。 ・ただ高齢化は進む。 ・環境のことを考える人々の数は増え、ソーラーパネルなどはもっと普及しているだろう。 ・見た目の環境に変化は見られないもののコンピューター、特にインターネットを使って働く人たちの環境はど んどん変化していくであろう。 ・東京では自転車専用の道路を造る計画をしているという話があるがそのような環境を考えた都市設計はとても いいアイデアである。 Speaker 2: Visible changes may not be significant, but aging will continue. The number of people concerned about the environment will increase, and technologies like solar panels will be more widely adopted. The work environment for people using computers, especially the internet, will continue to evolve, although there may not be visible changes in the physical environment. There are plans to create bicycle-exclusive roads in Tokyo, which is considered a good idea in terms of urban design. スピーカー3 ・高齢化社会がどんどん進んでいるだろう。 ・介護の人材がもっと必要になるので外国人労働者の数が増えているだろう。 ・子どもを作らない若者が増えている。 ・パンデミックのおかげで IT 難民が徐々にコンピューターに慣れることができた。 ・役所の書類が減り色んな手続きがコンピューターを使って行われるようになったが今後もさらに手続きの IT 化が進んでいくでしょう。 ・最近地震が多いが、5年後には空飛ぶ避難所ができるでしょう。 Speaker 3: Aging society will continue to progress rapidly. The demand for caregivers will increase, leading to a rise in the number of foreign workers. The number of young people choosing not to have children is increasing. Due to the pandemic, more people have become accustomed to using computers, gradually reducing the digital divide. Government paperwork has decreased, and various procedures are now conducted using computers. Further digitalization of procedures is expected in the future. Although earthquakes have been frequent recently, it is likely that flying evacuation shelters will be available in five years.

The next topic was: What does the future hold for you personally? スピーカー1 ・個人的にはそれほど変化はないと思う。 ・今のまま何もしなければ何も変わらないが、スマートフォンやパソコンを使って勉強して英語力などを向上し ていきたい。 ・空飛ぶ自動車が開発されそうなのでそれを見るのが楽しみです。 ・もし許されるならロサンゼルスに行って大谷翔平の野球の試合を見たい。 Speaker 1: Personally, I don't expect much change. If I don't do anything differently, nothing will change, but I would like to use smartphones and computers to study and improve my English skills. I'm excited about the development of flying cars. If possible, I would like to go to Los Angeles to watch Shohei Ohtani's baseball game. スピーカー2 ・自動運転の電気自動車を買う ・ブロードウェイミュージカルを見るために乳ヨークへ行きたい ・英語のスキルアップを目指す ・年を取って友達が誰もいなくなってもオンラインで世界中の人と話ができるので英語をもっと上達させてもっ と意味のある会話ができるようになりたい。 Speaker 2: I want to buy an electric car with autonomous driving capabilities. Even when I get older and have no friends, I can still have conversations with people worldwide online, so I want to enhance my English skills to have more meaningful conversations. スピーカー3 ・テニスを続けていきたい。 ・トーストマスターズ会費として5年後も頑張りたい。 ・スキーも続けていきたい。そのためにはトレーニングを続けていきたい。 ・オーストラリアにテニストーナメントを見に行きたい。 Speaker 3: I want to continue playing tennis. I want to continue being an active Toastmasters member even after five years. I also want to continue skiing, so I plan to keep training. I would like to go to Australia to watch a tennis tournament.
スピーカー4 ・病院のデジタル化を希望している。 ・病院に頻繁に行くのでそれぞれの病院がオンラインでつながって自分の病歴や薬歴などのデータが共有されれ ば色んな面でスムーズに診療を受けることができるだろう。 ・多分マイナンバーカードのシステムを使って病院同士のデータ共有が可能な時代が来るでしょう。 Speaker 4: I hope for the digitalization of hospitals. Since I frequently visit hospitals, it would be convenient if each hospital could share data, such as medical and medication history, online. It would help in receiving smoother medical care. It is likely that in the future, hospitals will be able to share data using the My Number Card system. 以上がそれぞれのスピーカーが話した内容のサマリーとなります。 高齢化というワードが頻繁に出てきましたね。 そしてデジタル化。 そこらへんが5年という近い未来に対する予想できる変化なのだと思います。 5年前にはパンデミックによってがらりと変わった現在を誰も予想できなかったように5年後もとんでもない 未来になっているかもしれませんね。 以上サマリーでした。
